Rajeev Madhavan Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Rajeev Madhavan has served as Magma's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors since he co-founded the company in 1997, and also served as president until 2001. Madhavan presently serves on the board of directors for the Electronic Design Automation Consortium. Prior to founding Magma, he co-founded and served as President and CEO of Ambit Design Systems, Inc. and co-founded and served as Director of Engineering of LogicVision, Inc. Madhavan received a bachelor's degree in electronics and communication from KREC, Surathkal, India, and a master's degree in electrical engineering from Queen's University, Ontario, Canada.
Roy Jewell joined Magma in 2001 as Chief Operating Officer, later assuming the additional role of President. From 1999 to 2001 Jewell served initially as the CEO of Clarisay, Inc. a company he co-founded. From 1998 to 1999 Jewell was a member of the executive staff at Avant! Corporation, a provider of software products for integrated circuit designs. From 1992 to 1998 Jewell was president and CEO of Technology Modeling Associates, Inc. Jewell previously served in various marketing positions at TMA, and prior to joining TMA in 1988 he served in various technical and management positions at Texas Instruments. Jewell received bachelor's and master's degrees in physics from the University of South Florida, and a master's degree in management and administration science from the University of Texas in Dallas.
Premal Buch General Manager and Vice President, Product Development Design Implementation Business Unit
Dr. Premal Buch manages R&D for Magma's Design Implementation Business Unit, responsible for development of Magma’s Talus design implementation product line, as well as analysis, low-power, formal verification, and structured and programmable solutions. Dr. Buch joined Magma in 1997 as one of the first members of Magma’s engineering team and has served at Magma in various technical and management positions since. He received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science in Pilani, India, and master’s and doctorate degrees in computer-aided design from the University of California, Berkeley.
Kevin MoynihanGeneral Manager and Vice President Design Implementation Business Unit
Kevin Moynihan joined Magma as General Manager of the Design Implementation Business Unit in 2008. He spent 9 years at Cadence Design Systems where his responsibilities included managing applications engineering; serving as vice president and general manager for Vertical Market Design Environments; serving as vice president of the Integration Ensemble and synthesis, placement & routing product lines; and serving as vice president of corporate business development. Moynihan's other EDA experience includes serving as product marketing engineer at Mentor Graphics, as vice president of Technology Services at High-Level Design Systems -- later acquired by Cadence -- and stints with Gradient Design Automation and Silicon Navigator. He also managed KLA-Tencor's DesignScan Business Unit, and served as a member of the technical staffs at Lockheed Missiles and Space Co. and at Advanced Micro Devices. Moynihan holds a master's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in computer and information science from Ohio State University.
Anirudh Devgan General Manager and Vice President, Product Development Custom Design Business Unit
Anirudh Devgan joined Magma in 2005 and manages product development for Magma’s Custom Design Business Unit. He spent 12 years at IBM in various management and technical positions at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center, IBM Server Division, IBM Microelectronics Division and IBM Austin Research Lab. Devgan, named an IEEE Fellow in 2006, was the recipient of DAC's Best Paper Award in 2005, the IEEE William J. McCalla Best Paper Award in 2003, IBM Microelectronics Division's Excellence Award in 2001, the 2000 IBM Corporate Award, and the IBM Outstanding Innovation Award and IBM Outstanding Research Accomplishment Award, both in 1999. He has served on program committees for various international conferences including DAC, ICCAD, ASP-DAC, VLSI Design and ISQED. Devgan has published more than 70 research papers and has 22 U.S. patents either issued or pending on various aspects of electronic design automation and circuit design. Devgan received a B. Tech. degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and M.S. & Ph.D. degrees in electrical and computer engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
Suk Lee General Manager and Vice President Custom Design Business Unit
Suk Lee, General Manager of Magma's Custom Design Business Unit, joined Magma in 2004 with more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor and EDA fields, having held various engineering and marketing positions at LSI Logic, Texas Instruments and Cadence Design Systems. He has a B.S. degree in electrical engineering from MIT and a Master of Applied Science in telecommunications theory from the University of Toronto.
Bruce Eastman Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Sales
Bruce Eastman joined Magma in 2008 as Corporate Vice President, Worldwide Sales. Prior experience includes founding and serving as CEO of IT management company Comstock Systems, which was acquired by Hitachi Storage Software, where he also served as CEO. Eastman’s career in electronic design automation began at ECAD, through that company’s initial public offering and eventual merger with SDA to form Cadence Design Systems, where he served as Vice President of Worldwide Major Accounts and Technology Partners. He then served as Vice President of North America Sales for Quickturn Systems through its IPO, and later as Vice President of Sales for Avant! Corporation. Eastman holds bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Kansas.
David Stanley Corporate Vice President, Corporate Affairs
David Stanley joined Magma in 2005 as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs, later assuming the additional role of corporate secretary. From 2004 to 2005 Stanley was an independent legal adviser. Prior to that Stanley was Magma’s Director for Corporate Development and Strategy from 2003 to 2004. He was general counsel of COLO.COM, a collocation space provider, from 1999 until 2003. He was the General Counsel and a member of the Executive Staff of Avant! Corporation from 1997 to 1999. Stanley received an A.B. degree in economics from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and a J.D. degree from the University of San Francisco.
Peter S. Teshima Corporate Vice President, Finance & Chief Financial Officer
Peter S. Teshima became Magma's Chief Financial Officer in 2006, having joined Magma in 2004 as Vice President, Finance. He has served in financial management and operational roles in EDA and other technology industries. Before joining Magma, Teshima served as chief operating officer for Hier Design Automation and previously was CFO at InTime Software, Cyclone Commerce, Avant! Corporation, InterHDL and High Level Design Systems. He holds a B.S. degree in commerce from Santa Clara University.
Milan G. Lazich Vice President, Corporate Marketing
Milan Lazich has served as Vice President, Corporate Marketing since joining Magma in 2001, and manages marketing programs and investor relations for the company. Prior experience includes serving as a marketing manager at Avant! Corporation and as Director of Marketing at Technology Modeling Associates. Lazich received a bachelor's degree in economics from UCLA and an MBA from Santa Clara University.
Camellia Ngo Vice President, Human Resources
Camellia Ngo joined Magma in 2000 to oversee Magma’s compensation practices, later assumed overall management of Magma's global Human Resources team and was named Vice President, Human Resources in 2005. Her team focuses on building the company’s competitive people advantage through HR initiatives reinforcing Magma’s winning culture and inspiring Magma employees to excel and contribute to the company’s dynamic growth and success. Prior to joining Magma, Ngo was a Senior Compensation Consultant with CompAnalysis. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and a J.D. degree from UC Hastings College of the Law. She has been a member of the California Bar since 1994.
